Autumn in the park.
Our class (Year 5’s) has collaborative teaching with Room 1 (Year 1’s) once a week. For the past few weeks we have been learning how to use digital cameras. We have learned different techniques and ideas. Today we went on our first real photo shoot. The theme was Autumn.

After morning tea we went to the field to meet Room 1. We lined up at the blue gate, one in front of the other and were sorted into groups. My buddy was M. Our teachers told us what sorts of photos to take. We each took two photos, then we swapped cameras and changed places. After that we took even more pictures.

Finally we got to take a photo of leaves and tree that are changing because of Autumn. I took a photo from the bridge to the nearest tree. I took another photo of a plant next to the water. D said: “Take a photo of that butterfly. Hurry!” So J took a photo of it, but after he took the photo it flew away.
We saw some logs so we went there, but then more people can and it started to get a bit crowded. JH took a photo really close to the tree. There were yellow bits on that photo.
The teachers were calling us to say you can take a photo close or far, or even lying down. They sent us away and I took a photo by lying on my back. I took one photo that I though was the best because it was an Autumn tree and the background was the blue sky with no clouds.

Both of my photos were trees. One of my photos was an evergreen tree. The other one was yellow and green and a little bit of brown.

We went over a bridge and a sign next to the water read: Polluted water, no swimming. I ws horrified. Why would people do this?
I saw some interesting things like a tree with it’s leaves that grew all the way down to the ground and opened up like a door. The thing that I mostly took photos of was while standing under the tree, looking up for the sun to shine through.
I am hoping that if we put the best photos on our blog, one of mine will be there!
